performance and quality
Not all LED products are made equal. Gast Home’s flexible LED strip lights are superior quality and offered at a very attractive price. Our flexible printed circuit boards (PDBs) and automated SMT equipment allows our strips to run cooler and last longer. We use binned LED chips that are sorted to ensure a high level of consistency and luminous efficacy.

These strips are also high-tech. They offer Bluetooth wireless control, so you can use the Gast Home mobile app on your smartphone to control the lighting. They also have an integrated controller, with buttons for power and cycling through various light scenes and functions — so they are also fully functional without a smartphone. Simply reach up and hit the buttons on the wall. These aren’t Wi-Fi connected, so you can’t control them remotely (that also makes setup easier). This kit doesn’t connect to the Hue lights through the house, so the lights don’t get rolled into a house-wide scene. When it comes to smart lighting for the home, Philips Hue is one of the best known names, and there are light strip options available in this series. The Lightstrip Plus Base pack is 80-inches of LED lighting on a flexible backing, but it retails for $89.99 and that doesn’t include the cost of the Hue Bridge needed for wireless control.
Setup is easy. They come packaged with the lights and everything needed for installation. Clean the wall where the light strip is going to be mounted, peel off the adhesive backing and spool out the strip as needed. It’s flexible enough to go around corners and the 3M adhesive holds up well. There are sections marked along the length of the light strip you can cut when needed. The controller is attached by a thin wire, and has an adhesive pad so it can be wall mounted. A power adapter connects to the controller using a thin cable, with plenty of length to reach an outlet.
It is very easy to spend hundreds of dollars on a smart lighting system, but you can get many of the same benefits with this less complicated setup. For lighting in a specific area where you’d like to also have “smart” functionality such as multiple colors and music pulsing modes, the GAST HOME LED light strips excel. The investment is minimal, everything you need is in the box, and with their integrated controllers, you don’t even need a smartphone to cycle through the various functions (although you do still have the option).
