Island Kitchens
Entertaining
Islands require space, and add complexity if a sink and cooktop are placed here, but they are a must for entertainers.  They are very functional as well, providing freedom of movement, a great worktop space, plenty of place to serve food, and even a great place to eat.  An island hood can provide another layer of aesthetic impact.  This is a very successful design for open plan homes.

Utilize the island as both a work- and social area where family and friends can interact while meals are being prepared. Because of its location in the centre of the kitchen, it is a great place to install prominent decorative lighting that can also serve as task lighting. Make sure you think of the home’s infrastructure as islands require very detailed planning of the electric and plumbing systems

  • Large workspace
  • Natural Traffic Flow

The peninsula kitchen is related to the island kitchen and incorporates a kitchen counter that juts out from a wall or cabinetry. This is a great solution that offers the benefits of a kitchen island where space doesn’t allow for an independent island to be installed. The peninsula can be used for food preparation, eating or other tasks while the cook is busy with meal preparation.
