Terrazzo Decorative Aggregate Mix

$119.95

25 lb bag of Terrazzo Aggregate, for applications looking for a refined aggregate terrazzo look.  Terrazzo Casting Mix sold separately.

We love Terrazzo because it is a very environmentally friendly building material.  Theoretically you could grab stones from anywhere nearby your building location, crush them, and add them to our terrazzo casting mix to create a beautiful patterned surface with natural textures.  But we make it even easier for you, recycling material by using leftover waste from stone cutting operations, and mixing them into an aggregate mix that provides a very sophisticated and layered terrazzo pattern.  This Gast Home decorative aggregate mix includes a specific mixture of recycled white, gray, black and pink aggregate for a unique and refined terrazzo look.   The result is a darker terrazzo with highlights of white and fuchsia.  This aggregate mix is great for countertops, fireplace mantles and facades, shower surrounds, wall panels, furniture and many other architectural elements. This mix design provides the opportunity to earn “green” points by using recycled content (glass, granite, and stone).

GH Terrazzo Aggregate was designed with the end user in mind. Without the pain, headaches and unnecessary mix formulation math that's typically associated with casting a terrazzo or aggregate-filled concrete pieces, GH Terrazzo makes creating beautiful glass and stone aggregate precast concrete simple and and easy to accomplish. With many Terrazzo designs available, this Terrazzo aggregate mix removes the worry of having a dull terrazzo.

In 15th century Venice, quarry workers invented terrazzo to use up oddly shaped pieces of marble waste. Now with 21st-century designs we are keeping this material’s resourceful spirit alive.

Terrazzo flooring is highly durablelow-maintenanceaesthetically pleasing and sustainable.

The following characteristics make Terrazzo by GastHome the ideal flooring option:

  • Durability: Terrazzo’s impeccable durability and strength are ideal for high traffic areas such as lobbies, hallways and eating areas. While the initial cost for other flooring systems might appear more affordable, they require more maintenance than terrazzo flooring. Other flooring systems such as carpet or vinyl tiles have to be replaced frequently, especially in high traffic areas, while terrazzo stands the test of time and typically lasts the lifetime of the building.
  • Low Maintenance: Since hotels and restaurants manipulate large amounts of food and beverages and often experience high numbers of visitors, it is a difficult task to keep the floor space consistently clean. Seamless terrazzo flooring allows for easy cleaning and sanitizing, and day-to-day maintenance only requires using a mop and a bucket of warm water. Terrazzo Resin Systems also helps to prevent the growth of bacteria and fungus, reducing the transfer of germs and food waste.
  • Aesthetics: Terrazzo offers unlimited possibilities by allowing any imaginable combination of colors, patterns, logos and pictures. This allows designers and architects to create original designs that incorporate branding and a wide range of colors into the floor. Our special formulation does not allow for colors to fade or wear thin.
  • Sustainability: Terrazzo has long been a recycled product and was created centuries ago by Venetian workers who used waste chips from slab marble processing. The following aspects make Terrazzo by GastHome a sustainable flooring choice:
    • Use of recycled content for aggregates
    • Use of local/regional materials
    • High durability, lasting the lifetime of buildings
    • Does not emit Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC)
